Foreclosure Homes

Today the world is tougher than it has been in a very long time. There are a lot people in the world who are unsure of where they will wake up financially when the dawn comes and still fewer that have any faith in the fact that when the real estate crash ends and the country recovers that they will have anything left in a retirement account with which they can retire. That makes for a very uncertain world.

Divorce rates and domestic violence cases are up. Murder and robbery is up and the documented cases of suicide have all but gone through the roof lately and a great portion of these increases can be attributed to the increase in the number of foreclosure homes happening everyday. The state of the country is always reflected in the way the people react and hard time always cause an increase in crime due to people doing whatever is necessary to survive.

As was once said anything goes when everything’s gone. People who are stuck with their backs against the wall and a bank or creditors pushing against them will do whatever they can to keep their family safe, fed and in their home. When legal methods are exhausted and there is no other option, then folks who would otherwise be totally rational and against the thought of illegal activities will turn to other methods for the sake of survival.

This is scary and it really should be. People can snap at any point in time and there is no way to know what they are capable of doing since most of them have never had an issue in life that has pushed them to the extreme that the current world situation has done. A lot of these people are lifetime middle or upper management folks and not career criminals so they don’t have any idea what is going on or what they are going to do until it has happened and that is what makes this situation so dangerous. At least with someone that has a history of criminal activity or violence there is a pattern and they may know what to expect. When things like this occur, it is like someone throws a switch and one moment all is fine the next it is tumultuous.

That being said we all need to do what we can to keep our own lives as even keel during these unsettled times as we can and we need to be especially sensitive to the feelings and needs of our co-workers and fellow human beings because you never know what is going on in someone’s life and as a result you have no way to predict the reaction they may have to things you say or do and you may very well send someone off the deep end and not even know what triggered the reaction.

Times are hard and upside down for a lot of people and with a little more human compassion we can all make it through this as long as we remember that we are all in this together and do what we can to think before we react.
